It kind of irritates me that TLC & Discovery are paying these offbeat families to produce shows for nothing more than low level entertainment: the Roloffs, the Duggars, the Wachtendorfs (the polygamy family). If the Duggars want to have 16 kids and build a compound - go ahead - but don't count on money from a television station to help out. They also enjoyed a part of their recent vacation on the corporate dime. One show about each of them would have sufficed. None of them really needed books, interviews, TV series and the like. American seriously needs more interesting forms of entertainment.
